I just bought some cheap ones, the same old brand I had before, and they were poor! Very thin and not smooth at all!
I guess its a bit of a gamble when you get the 99 cent stuff. There was another store but it had way to many sizes and selection hahaha. I didn't want to stand around reading through them all.

Over the years I've found that some good inexpensive brands (L'Eggs
Silken Mist and Sheer Elegance, for example) are perfectly fine and
feel great. I prefer Hanes Silk Reflections, and back when they used
to make them Liz Claiborne had these absolutely sexy-as-hell and
silkier-than-sin pantyhose but they've discontinued them. I don't think
they've resumed making them.
Anyway it seems like the cheaper brands are often just fine for the most
part, and while pricier brands are indeed silkier and sexier, they're not
better by enough to always justify spending the extra money.
As one woman told me, "the nicer brands will feel nicer". I absolutely
loved talking about pantyhose with her but she didn't know I had this
interest and I didn't want to appear too interested for fear of looking like
a real weirdo.
What I discovered though is that while nicer brands do indeed feel nicer,
it's not always necessary.
